CLEARLY DEFINED PROJECT

Project Management Disciplines

Starting from the basis of the Implementation Roadmap developed during Discovery and Design, the leadership, focus and discipline of The Highland Group continues into the change implementation phase.

Team Structure

  • During the Discovery and Design, the project was organized into multiple workstreams.  The workstreams, each supported by a team, are executed concurrently, applying the expertise of our clients and our consultants based on the specific deliverables and scope of work of that area.  Each team is led by a member of our client's organization and supported by at least one senior Highland consultant.

Governance

  • Leadership of the workstreams report to the Executive Steering Committee which is composed of senior executives representing each area of the organization.  The Executive Steering Committee meets periodically throughout the project and ensures barrier removal, strategic alignment, performance to the plan, and communication of results to the organization.

Team Charters

  • Each team develops a charter that builds upon the roadmap developed during Discovery and  clearly states the scope, deliverables, checkpoints, and metrics for their work stream.

Flash Reports

  • Each team prepares a weekly Flash Report that states their accomplishments for the week, issues, and plans for the following week.  This qualititative information is combined with the System for Managing metrics to provide WEEKLY VISIBILITY to both the business and project performance.
