Project Leader, Manufacturing & Industrial
Joseph is a senior executive who combines 17 years of industry management experience – including corporate officer positions – with more than 25 years of international consulting success, primarily in the areas of process improvement, working capital optimization and operational metrics.
Joseph possesses extensive experience in strategic alignment, general management, product and service development, manufacturing and supply chain. He has served industrial and manufacturing companies in a wide variety of industries, including petroleum exploration, oilfield services, electronics and communications, aluminum extrusion and mining. Having served in more than 21 countries around Latin America, the Caribbean, the Pacific Rim, and North America, Joseph is skilled at implementing successful and sustainable change programs in culturally diverse environments.
Selected accomplishments include:
- For one of the world’s largest petroleum companies: Joseph supported internal improvement initiatives to decrease costs and increase the probability of success of deep-water exploratory oil wells. He helped rationalize and redefine the firm's Well Production Process and imbued its Knowledge Management process with the outcomes of exploratory wells. He also successfully developed and implemented a Monte Carlo risking model and management process for borehole selection for new exploratory wells.
- For a world leader in aluminum products: Joseph led an extended viability analysis of the firm’s heat exchanger business with special emphasis on production locations, product rationalization and throughput. He reviewed plant capabilities, costs, expansion potential and demand trends. Joseph also performed a management alignment study and uncovered dysfunctional communications and expectations. He then led senior management through a strategic alignment exercise to ensure that their strategic direction was supported by appropriate initiatives and eliminated superfluous initiatives that were consuming management resources. He made recommendations to refine the firm's strategic direction and plant utilization performance.
- For a multinational heavy manufacturing company: Joseph provided leadership, CapEx guidance and human capital management direction to deliver a $38 million capital project, which involved the consolidation of three manufacturing sites into one greenfield location in northern Mexico. To that end, he also managed a $20 million investment toward the closure and equipment relocation of two facilities in California and two facilities in Mexico. Joseph’s project responsibilities included relocating equipment from the three plants, closing them, managing the construction of the new facility, overseeing equipment installation, establishing ramp-up plans and managing labor-force reduction and change management activities.
