WHAT WE BELIEVE

At The Highland Group, we have a set of core ideas that serve as the foundation for our approach to executing profound change within an organization. These beliefs are outlined below.

We Believe That Most People Want To Succeed

They come to work each day with a desire to have a good, successful day. In order to do so, there are some prerequisites:

  • They must have clearly defined tasks and goals that are meaningful to them.
  • Their goals must be aligned with the organization's goals to ensure that their work adds value.
  • They must receive the required supervision and support.
  • They must be able to measure their progress in order to self-manage.
  • They must receive recognition and appreciation for their accomplishments.

We Believe There Are 5 Steps to the Change Process

  • To be successful, change must be orderly.
  • There must be a need for change.
  • The change leader and others who will be part of the change must believe that change is necessary and be willing to act to make it happen.
  • It must be demonstrated that the change is possible. An action plan must be created to implement the needed changes.
  • The champions of change must then give their full support to complete and internalize the action plan.

We Believe That Goals Must be Translated

  • Employees at mid and lower levels of the organization need to understand how they can impact earnings per share, revenue growth, or other top-level goals.
  • Goals must be translated for, and communicated to, employees at all levels so that they are meaningful to them.
